The 2013 Natural Gas Symposium

Purpose of Oct 15-16, 2013 Third Annual Natural Gas Symposium

At the well attended two day event, the CSU Steering Committee provided diverse and balanced stakeholder perspectives on the emerging unconventional energy markets with a particular emphasis on the natural gas economy and the impacts in Colorado, United States and around the globe. It is CSU’s goal to educate, inform and discuss complex issues while finding viable solutions. The CSU Steering Committee of the symposium worked hard to offer all sides of the issues keeping Colorado State University as the “honest broker” of the information.

Objectives

  1. The symposium’s agenda covered risks, uncertainties, benefits and opportunitites focused on four topic areas:
    1. Environment/Air & Water
    2. Climate
    3. Community/Public Health
    4. Ecosystem/Conservation
  2. The symposium showcased actual projects and research going on at CSU in the natural gas industry.
  3. All stakeholders on all sides of the issues were invited while encouraging civil discourse. The symposium included education around science-based natural gas issues, energy policies and regulations. It was a very successful event that welcomed discussion and networking resulting in future research opportunities. Our goal of demonstrating leadership by CSU’s multi-disciplinary teams was realized.

CSU Hosts:
